Directions: Tenney Park is located on the shore of Lake Mendota in the isthmus area of Madison betwen Lake Mendota and Lake Monona. From I-90 take exit 138B and go west on Hwy WI-30 toward Madison for 3.1 miles. Go south on Hwy US-151 (E Washington Ave) for 2.2 miles. Turn right onto N Baldwin St and travel 0.5 miles, then turn right onto Sherman Ave. After 0.2 miles turn right onto N Thornton Ave to the park shelter.
Parking: Ample parking is available at the start point.
Description: NOTE: The primary date for this walk is Saturday, July 11 with registration at Tenney Park. On Friday, July 10 and Sunday, July 12 this walk is being treated as a seasonal event with registration at the Madison Concourse Hotel at 1 W. Dayton St, Madison, WI. Parking is available across the street from the hotel in a city parking ramp at W Dayton and N Carroll. The walk will include historical homes, Lakes Mendota and Monona, State Street, the State Capitol and Capitol Square, the Dane County Farmers Market (Saturday only), Monona Terrace Convention Center, museums and a small portion of the University campus. The trail is on paved city sidewalk/trails and a gravel path. There are several gradual hills.
Awards & Fees: There will be no pre-registration or award for this walk. All Walkers: $3.00
Pets: Pets are not permitted on this walk.
Amenities: Restrooms and water are available at the start point and along the trail.
