Hours: Start between 9:00 am and noon, finish by 3:00 pm.
Distance: 10K and 5K
Rating: 2B The walk is not suitable for strollers or wheelchairs

Directions: From the intersection of Hwy 51 and Hwy 151 in Madison head southwest (towards city center) on Hwy 151 (E. Washington Ave.). Turn right at ramp to Hwy 113. Ramp will exit onto Aberg Ave. Continue on Aberg Ave, ignoring the exit to Hwy 113, to its end at N Sherman Ave. Turn right on N Sherman Ave. Continue on N Sherman Ave to the parking lot at its very end. NOTE: The last 0.6 miles is a gravel/dirt road.
Parking: Ample parking is available.
Description: Two 5K loops. One loop will be entirely within the park, This loop includes several scenic overlooks of the area and the Yahara River. It passes through prairies, wetlands (via boardwalks), and a forest. The route passes by several conical effigy mounds. The other loop is about half within the park and includes several trails not part of the other loop. The other half go through a residential area that includes a significant stretch, with wonderful views, along the Yahara River.

Pets: Leashed pets are not permitted on this walk.
