Directions:

From I-90 exit west on Hwy US 12/18 and proceed west to John Nolen Dr.  At the fifth traffic light on John Nolen, turn left on Broom St.  Proceed to third light and turn right on W. Washington Ave. to the Capitol Square. Turn right on Carroll St. to next corner.  Hotel is on the right.

 NOTE:  Ask bellman for the Start Box; remember that they may be very busy.

Parking:
Hotel parking may be limited.  There is a parking charge unless you are a registered guest.  Five public parking ramps are within two blocks of the Capital Square.  If you are driving an RV or other large vehicle, you might want to check with the contact person for parking information.
Description: Route includes the State Capitol which houses the State Supreme Court, Monona Terrace Convention Center, University of Wisconsin campus, Lake Monona, and a walk along the shoreline of Lake Mendota. Route also passes the birthplace of Thornton Wilder. The trail is on paved city sidewalks and a gravel path. There are several gradual hills.
Award:
"B" award is a pin depicting the University and the Capitol on the Isthmus between the lakes.
