From Hwy 26 in Fort
Atkinson, take the Hwy 106 exit. At stop sign, turn east and follow Hwy 106
(Riverside Dr) along the river 1.2 miles to Sinnissippi Drive. Turn left on
Sinnissippi Drive. At a fork in the road, veer left toward the "Youth Football
Fields" and continue on park road another half mile. Parking area will be on
your left. Watch for signs to starting point. |

This walk has something
for everyone. The walk includes a nature area, historic points of interest, old
and new neighborhoods, a river walk, bike trail with cute children at play
sculpture, an internationally famous poet’s wall, farmers market, cemetery, a
historic water tower, and most importantly the site of Fort Koshkonong for which
Fort Atkinson gets its name. |
