From WI-42/WI-57
in Sturgeon Bay, take CR-S south for about 15 miles. Cross CR-S (2nd
St.) over the bridge in Algoma. At the second street past the bridge, Steele St,
turn left.
From the south,
take WI-42 into Algoma, past the intersection with WI 54. Then turn right on
Lake St, left on 2nd
St and right on Steele St. |

| Description: |
Both routes include the
historic von Stiehl Winery, Wisconsin’s oldest, and the Art Dettman Fish Shanty,
one of the last 1920s era original fish shanties on Lake Michigan. Walkers will
end both routes on the one-half mile lakefront boardwalk, with a view of the
picturesque red Algoma lighthouse. |
